Are we demanding too much of the wrong things when we interview recruiters? Are we focusing on things that will not affect the end goal, which is hiring a recruiter that will be successful in our environment.

Now that I’ve established what is important for me and what would drive me to change job, let’s look at something that has been bugging me for years: the lack of effort we put in when it comes to hiring someone as a recruiter.

Yes, you read it right. Reference checks are a waste of everybody's time and are in no way an accurate predictor of future performance. They are antiquated, biases and won't help you make good hiring decisions.
